This is a free dictionary for everybody who frequently needs to translate
back and forth between Hungarian and English, or Hungarian and German. The huge
number of expressions and phrases are placed into highly compressed dictionary
files that can be copied either into the device's internal memory, or onto a
storage card. Supports English, German and Hungarian version of the user interface.

4 intelligent searching options:
- Exact Search: Searching for the exact search string
Searching 'mean' finds 'mean'
- Extended Search: Searching for expressions start with the search string,
and has any ending
Searching 'mean' finds 'mean', 'mean sea level', 'mean-time' etc.
- Phrase Search: Searching for phrases that start with any defined prefix,
and the search string
Searching 'mean' finds 'mean' and 'to mean'
- Full Search: Searching for expressions that start with any defined prefix and the search string, and has any ending
Searching 'mean' finds 'mean', 'mean sea level', 'mean-time', 'to mean',
'of mean birth', 'to mean no harm' etc.
Neglecting accented characters (ex. à = A; É = E etc.)
Dictionary browsing
Multi-language user interface, currently support for:
Quick search
By enabling quick search the expression copied into the clipboard
can be translated by the single press of a user-defined hardware button,
or (only on Palm-Size and Handheld PC's) the single tap of the
Quick-Search icon in the system tray.
Pre-defined user editable prefix lists for every language
Optimized search methods: finds matches under 2 seconds (excluding listing of all the matches)

Download and Installation

Due to the infinite number of complaints we'd received about installation problems, we've replaced the installer. Now you can download the application with this new installer.
|
Use the following links to download the ZIP'd installer corresponding to your device's processor type. You can either decompress it into
a temporary directory on your desktop machine and start the installation, or - if you use WinZip - you can initiate installation right from the ZIP file.

Once you start STDict 2.0 installation and agree to the licencing terms, you have to decide which ones of the four major components you want to install:
STDict 2.0 Core Application (about 60-70 KB, depending on processor type)
This will install the application, the help files and the user interface files
Hungarian-English Dictionary Modul (3078 KB)
This will install the Hungarian-English database
Hungarian-German Dictionary Modul (667 KB)
This will install the Hungarian-German database
English (American Accent) Speech Library (about 4200-4500 KB, depending on processor type)
This will install the Speech Library for English pronounciation of expressions
After making your selection the installer will call the CE Application Manager component of
ActiveSync 3.5
for each of the selected components one by one. This gives you the chance to decide whether to install those into the Main Memory or onto a Storage Card.
In order to install more components you will have to rerun this installer again.
